Kim Compton named Economic Development Director for Hancock County

October, 2011 Kim Compton, Manager, Economic Development for the Hancock County Development Commission has accepted the position of Economic Development Director of the HCDC. The Hancock County Development Commission (HCDC) is tasked with economic development efforts in this Mississippi county. The Commission has serious financial assets and solid funding behind it. With this knowledge in mind, the HCDC has decided to rethink their roles and responsibilities and embark on an aggressive strategy and plan of action for positioning the County as a strong regional economic development leader. HCDC has selected Market Street in late 2010 to lead the County in the development of a five-year Economic Development Strategy.

Cincinnati USA Partnership Names Denyse Ferguson VP, Economic Development 

Micheal Harvey is the new President, Economic Development for Northwest Arkansas Council

June, 2011 Michael E. Harvey, President of the Thomas Jefferson Partnership for Economic Development in Charlottesville, VA has accepted the position of President, Economic Development for the Northwest Arkansas Council. The Northwest Arkansas Council was created in August of 1990 to work on regional projects. Through its efforts, the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport was built and other infrastructure initiatives were helping meet the needs for the growing population. In November 2009, the Northwest Arkansas Council, which represents key regional business leaders, initiated a process to allow the regional community to identify how best to position the Northwest Arkansas region for retaining current employers, existing residents and attracting quality employers and talent. Market Street was engaged to facilitate this effort, which kicked off in March, 2010. The Strategic Economic Development Plan sets forth a vision for the future of the Northwest Arkansas region and provides a clear list of initiatives and priorities that need to be accomplished to make sure Northwest Arkansas remains economically competitive into the next decade.
